BYOB Showcase Melbourne - 25th September’25
A Night of Young Entrepreneurs, Inspiring Stories & Work in Action
On September 25, we brought the BYOB (Build Your Own Business) community together again in Melbourne and what a night.
From heartfelt stories of reinvention to straight-talking advice you can use the next day, the room buzzed with energy, connection and possibility. This wasn’t just a showcase; it was proof that when the right people come together, big ideas move.
Our panel - Roslyn Johnson, Tiarna Pepall, Angus Clark and Andre Morgan shared the real stuff: why they left the safe path, what the first months actually looked like, and how they found a rhythm that works. Andrew Ford opened up about walking away from corporate to build a life that put his family first and how that choice became the seed for this community.
And then Matt Tinkler took the stage with a fun, generous keynote on how he turned craft into a company: the moment he backed himself, the tiny pilots that proved the idea, the pricing shift that stuck, and the simple weekly rhythm that keeps growth human. It landed because it was honest, clear, and immediately useful.
What people took away
Back yourself, then start small and prove it fast.
One promise, one price, one next step.
Community makes the hard parts lighter and the wins bigger.
Thank you to everyone who showed up, asked brave questions, and introduced someone new. Nights like this are why BYOB exists — builders backing builders, one conversation at a time.
