New Years Resolutions and Such...

Happy New Year bro!! I have written about 128x times since January 1st this year to all my clients and friends. I love a new start and usually feel pretty fresh and ready to get stuck in. But this year is a bit different.

After a pretty tough 2025 I felt spent. Business went well, we grew 10% in a difficult market (tariffs anyone...) and finished off a few key projects that were important to me, like relaunching CampusLife to help uni students get a job and my BYOB coaching program for corporate escapees. But it took a lot of my energy and soul to pull these dreams into reality. So instead of having a break over Christmas, I decide to launch a venture with a new client and worked everyday since we broke up December 19th. Duh!

On the personal side, last year was one of transition too. Moving towards more positive relationships, working on my finances and watching my kids get more and more independent. I even started a new fitness regime and renovated a property for good measure. Not sure why I do it to myself, but I can't help it.

All in all, 2025 was like running a marathon. Long, hard, full of a few doubts, but ultimately rewarding. Some years are like that. You get a few blisters, maybe an injury, but feel satisfied and in need of a Bex and lie down after. Although my Bex came usually comes out of a can and smelled suspiciously like beer...

So what does 2026 hold? I wish I knew! But my prediction is thus...

The world will get crazier. The USA seems to be serious about annexing other countries, opening the way for everyone to grab what they want. Just like when you see someone not paying at the shops, you think why should I pay if they aren't? So China, Russia just do what you want apparently. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, think again!

Economically AI will be talked about but not make a lot of immediate and daily change for most of us. Think about last week, how did your life really change due to a bot? The bubble might burst due to the ridiculous valuations, but I think that's a few years away yet as are the robots. But it's getting closer so you will have a job for awhile yet.

Strangely, I feel 2026 will be a good year in Australia. I'm bullish about my business and life. Not sure why. So let's see what others think.

If you are into the stars, "the astrology of 2026 brings change and growth. Change will especially be felt on July 26, when the karmic nodes of destiny enter the Aquarius and Leo lunar axis, starting a 1.5-year cycle that offers innovation and community." (source)

Or if maths was your favourite subject at school, let's look at the numbers. "The year 2026's numerology theme centers around new beginnings and life transitions. Some of them may feel invigorating, some scary — and some both. This season of blank canvases and fresh starts contrasts with 2025. The year 2025 was a 9-year within numerology, which was concerned with wrapping up projects and eras." (source)

Chinese New Year is the Red Fire Horse, from February 17th which sounds pretty exciting too! Bringing powerful, energetic, and transformative vibes for ambition, innovation, and movement, but also potential restlessness; it's a time for bold career moves, travel, and embracing change. (source) Me like!

So it's not just me, most of the reliable <cough> sources predict innovation, change, growth, new beginnings and transformative vibes. So let's go with that and make big plans for this coming year.

But first, I need a break so I am off to explore some islands in the Philippines for diving, beach days and get my body, brain and soul ready to rock 2026!

See you all in a few weeks and I wish everyone a healthy, happy and prosperous year ahead :)

Andrew
