Separating Time from Money - Building Your Own Business Vs Corporate

Have you ever stopped to think about the relationship between time and money? I think all of us have the dream of having control of our time and enough money to do what we want. But for 90% of the population this will remain just that - a dream. It will not be their reality. The vast majority of us will work for someone all our lives and retire with just enough to survive. Depressing huh.  But what if it wasn't that way? What if there was a way to separate time from money without selling your soul. What would you be prepared to do in order to free your time from the restriction of earning money? Below I will share my journey to do just that. Here is what I have been prepared to do and what I have learnt along the way. 

For most of us we are locked into the model of trading an hour of time, for an amount of dollars. We don't know any other way. I did this for 20 years working for big IT! Sure I earn't some good dollars and built some great skills. Yet as I enjoyed the instant rewards, I saw the future for me as working more hours for more money. All I was focused on was how to increase the amount of dollars I got per hour of time. The problem is there is a limit to the time you have!  Also I was trading time with kids, family and friends for those dollars and it wasn't going to get any better in the future. So what did I do? I changed the model.

The change for me was starting my own business Social Star. By doing this I hoped to control my time and how much money I earned. So that one day I could earn the money I wanted, but spent less time at work and more time with those I loved. The goal was to work my ass off for 5-10 years and then enjoy the rewards. 

To be honest the change fucking hard. Most change is. I more than halved my income overnight. I gave up a lot of material things. I had to say no to a bunch of things and work pretty damn hard. I got sick. But the results are worth it. Now I make a difference in the world which is pretty damn cool.

I have made it my mission to be the spark to help others see that trading time for money isn't the answer. But even more than that, I provide a step by step practical system to help them on the journey from where they are to where they want to go. It helps them focus their personal passions to form a business. It uses what they have now to build their dream life. People soon realise that you have all you need! It just requires a process, some coaching and effort.

There is nothing better than seeing the light bulb come on for a client and seeing their awareness expand that there is a better way - that they can do it! Buzz.
